Research interests

Major research interests are in the role of expectation effects on clinical outcome (placebo- and nocebo effects), perception and coping with somatic symptoms, and optimization of clinical studies and interventions. PI and Co-PI of clinical trials (including multi-center trials) in somatoform disorders, pain conditions, schizophrenia, depression. Currently, we develop attempts to optimize treatment outcome in medical and psychological conditions by optimizing outcome expectation.
