Research interests
My research interest is to understand how humans manage to learn complex motor tasks. In current research projects, I examine how error processing contributes to motor learning. In particular, we investigate the role of internal forwards models in learning, their manifestation in error prediction processes, how they develop in the course of learning, and what information sources drive these prediction processes. Another related interest focusses on the question if and how pathologic limitations affect motor learning (e.g., in Parkinson’s Disease). We use kinematic as well as neurophysiological methods (EEG) to study these topics.
