Research interest
Our research focusses on (i) vision in a natural context and (ii) the processing of multisensory spatial and self-motion information. Primates move their eyes more often than their heart beats. In our work, we investigate the interaction of eye movements and visual information processing. We also aim to unveil the role of visual, tactile and auditory stimuli in the coding of spatial and movement information. Our methods range from cell recordings and EEG in the animal model via artificial intelligence approaches to behavioral and imaging studies in humans. Finally, in collaboration with the UKGM, we investigate eye and body movements in neurological and psychiatric patients.
