13.10.2023 Successful CMBB-Day
On 5th October the CMBB celebrated the first "CMBB Day" with over 170 participants from all areas of Mind, Brain and Behaviour research.
During the day we were delighted to welcome leading guest speakers Oscar Marin, Luciana Besedovsky, Marco Rust, Ben de Haas, Katharina Dobs, Markus Wöhr, Brigitte Röder and Constantin Rothkopf to present their work. We also heard talks from the two winners of CMBB Communicator Prize: Verena Schuster and Maximilian Broda. There were also around 50 posters presentations.
The day was brought to a fascinating end with the Distinguished Public Lecture from renowned researcher and author Gerd Gigerenzer, emeritus director of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and head of the Harding Center for Risk Literacy, who spoke about his latest book "How to Stay Smart in a Smart World". Following the talk CMBB Day attendees and members of the public engaged in lively discussions with Prof. Gigerenzer on AI, data privacy and the dangers of social credit systems.
