Research interests

My research focuses on the mechanisms and processes of treatment change, translating discoveries from neuroscience into clinical applications, emotion regulation, and the cultural expressions of psychopathology, especially anxiety disorders. I am interested in predicting therapy outcome with brain imaging using machine-learning approaches. I have been developing Process-based Therapy, a transtheoretial model of psychotherapy based in evolutionary science using a complex network approach to target the fundamental processes of treatment change with simple core therapeutic principles.
